Are you a driven person with a strong commitment to pedagogy and mathematics? Then we might be looking for you! Mattecentrum is in an exciting phase: we are further developing both our digital solutions and our on-site operations across the country. This is to reach more students, not only in upper secondary and lower secondary school but also in primary and middle school. In this role, you will have ample opportunity to test new working methods, turn ideas into practice, and contribute to Mattecentrum's continued development.

About the role

As a Mathematics Project Manager at Mattecentrum, you are responsible for developing and ensuring the quality of pedagogical methods, activities, and materials that strengthen children's and young people's learning and enthusiasm for mathematics. The role combines creativity and pedagogical development work with practical work close to the target group – both in digital environments and on-site activities.

You lead Mattecentrum's pedagogical development work from idea to implementation and are responsible for quality assurance and further development of the organization's mathematical content and methods. The goal is for Mattecentrum to offer engaging and accessible support that strengthens children's and young people's mathematical knowledge and confidence.

In this role, you actively contribute content to Mattecentrum's digital sites: pluggakuten.se, matteboken.se, arabiska.matteboken.se, mathplanet.com, formelsamlingen.se, ekonomikoll.se, as well as social media. You assist in the training of volunteers and other engaged individuals within the organization, and actively participate in Mattecentrum's physical events to support the organization's presence in meeting the target group.

The role includes specific project management responsibility for a pilot during Autumn 2026/Spring 2027, focusing on strengthening mathematics knowledge among sixth-grade students in areas with socioeconomic challenges.

Main areas of responsibility and tasks:

  • Plan, drive, and follow up on pedagogical development work and projects based on the target group's needs.
  • Responsible for quality assurance and further development of mathematical content, learning resources, activities, and methods within Mattecentrum's digital platforms and on-site operations.
  • Develop and test new pedagogical concepts and tools that strengthen children's and young people's learning in mathematics, while supporting volunteers and educators in their work.
  • Contribute to follow-up, impact measurement, and continued development of the operations.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, volunteers, and external partners to develop and strengthen Mattecentrum's operations.

Competence and experience

Requirements

  • University education in mathematics or another field with substantial mathematical components.
  • Practical experience in making mathematics accessible, understandable, and engaging for children and young people.
  • Experience in developing activities, materials, or concepts that can be used by educators or volunteers to strengthen children's and young people's learning in mathematics.
  • Experience in planning and driving projects from idea to implementation.
  • Good communication skills in Swedish, both verbal and written.

Merits

  • University education in pedagogy, didactics, or teacher training.
  • Interest in and experience with how digital tools and new technology can strengthen learning and enthusiasm for mathematics.
  • Experience working with children and young people in areas with socioeconomic challenges.
  • Experience from idea-driven or non-profit operations.
